SHADOW

SHADOW, formerly Tag #1308 was saved from MPS Livestock & Ship Pen in Bastrop Louisiana USA, on April 30, 2019. She is a bred registered brown leopard Appaloosa mare, 5 years old, halter broke. She is a very gentle girl.

Shadow gave birth to a beautiful appaloosa stud colt on April 18, 2020. Unfortunately she did not have enough colostrum milk for him due to her poor body condition at time of saving her. Our vet was able to find a local breeder that had frozen colostrum on hand which we gave to little Amigo. Shadow was not able to produce sufficient milk for Amigo hence we had to bottle feed him with milk replacer. Sadly Amigo passed away on May 5. He was septic because he did not receive antibodies from his mother. We tried so very hard and so did Amigo and his mom Shadow. She was a wonderful mom. RIP little one.
